● The Brief

Good morning. CoreWeave's second-quarter numbers landed Tuesday and they're a useful gauge of just how much money is still pouring into AI infrastructure. Revenue came in at $2.58 billion, more than double what it was a year ago, and the company beat Wall Street on both revenue and per-share loss. It's still burning cash heavily, with net losses widening to $626 million, but that's the trade-off the market seems willing to accept right now in exchange for growth. The real headline is the backlog: $104 billion in signed future business, not even counting more than $25 billion in fresh commitments booked since quarter-end, with new deals tied to Meta, Anthropic, and Jane Street. CoreWeave also raised its full-year guidance, which tells you demand for AI compute isn't cooling off even as the capital being deployed against it keeps climbing. Below: today's five recent stories across markets, AI, policy, and security.
