Good morning. Dutch regulators have hit Uber with an €825 million GDPR fine, the second-largest privacy penalty ever issued in Europe, over claims the company let automated systems suspend drivers' accounts without meaningful human review. The case cuts to a question that's going to keep coming up as companies lean harder on algorithmic management: when software can end someone's livelihood with no person checking the decision, who's accountable for that. Uber says the regulator has its facts wrong, insisting suspensions are usually brief, permanent deactivations get human review, and drivers can appeal, and it plans to fight the ruling.
