Musk shared a message from Jeremy Sylestine, a defense attorney running against the incumbent DA Jose Garza, on X (previously Twitter), emphasizing the importance of electing a new DA for the greater Austin area, where Tesla's headquarters is based.

This appeal comes after a challenging period for Musk, following a Delaware judge's decision to invalidate his Tesla compensation package, valued at up to $55.8 billion, due to unfair negotiation processes.

This setback has prompted Musk to consider relocating several of his businesses from Delaware.

Notably, Musk's SpaceX has already changed its state of incorporation to Texas, and following an X poll, Tesla is also considering a move to Texas, with a shareholder vote on the matter announced for the near future. Neuralink, Musk's neurotechnology firm, has similarly moved its incorporation from Delaware to Nevada.

District Attorney Jose Garza, elected in 2020, has faced scrutiny for his handling of indictments related to the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, which were later withdrawn.

Challenger Jeremy Sylestine is campaigning for Garza's position with promises of greater transparency and increased mental health resources, as reported by Fox 7 Austin.
